Norman Maranto

Senior Minister

Jonathan Bates is a native of Itawamba county. He, his wife Paige, and their son Jack live in the small community of Dorsey. Jonathan is a graduate of Ole Miss and Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies in which he obtained a degree in Elementary Education and a Biblical Studies certificate. He is currently teaching 7th and 8th grade Math and Bible at Tupelo Christian Preparatory School.

Jonathan comes to Skyline from Tilden Church of Christ. Bates is a 3rd generation gospel preacher. He began his work as Youth Minister at Skyline in January 2017.

Norman graduated from Bellhaven University in Jackson, MS and comes to Skyline from the Rolling Fork church of Christ where he preached for 10 years. Norman has preached throughout his life as a Christian and has a passion for teaching God's word. He has also served as a Deacon and a Elder in the Lord's church for over 25 years.

Norman is retired from the Internal Revenue Service. He and his wife, Joyce, have 2 children, Tabitha Farley and Derrick Maranto. They have 5 grandchildren. Their son Derrick is the minister for the Christian Chapel church of Christ.
